A leisurely wakeup was followed by a hilarious breakfast in a 10×10 room with 24 X-Roaders quickly grabbing danishes. Then it was off to Niagara Falls with a quick stop at the border to talk to the customs officer….no troubles. Everyone had a great time on the Maid of the Mist boat tour of the falls and were blown away by that wonder of the world. We arrived at CSM Toronto at about 6:30, got oriented and went to dinner at the New Handii 2000 Indian restaurant…Sarah VP was loving that. Most enjoyed their dinner. Then it was on to a prayer tour of the city, stopping in some of Toronto’s toughest spots and in the powerful spots also. It was a good and again a long day. Tomorrow comes early, so I’ll post more later.
The trip started out on the road fairly promptly at 8:15am or so to head to the Willoughby Hills Covenant Church. It was a fine drive, cruising along, but somehow took forever. One small wrong turn, a seatbelt tangle, a vomit along I-80 and a successful Maddie pickup all made the trip fairly entertaining and long. Not to mention our host church not showing up…an eventful day.
Everyone is with us and doing well…we had to turn to plan B, a night’s stay at a Super 8 in the same general area as the church. We arrived at 1:00am, 2:00am Eastern time. We will stay the night, enjoy breakfast and head for Niagara Falls in the morning, then on to Toronto.
Please pray for a good drive tomorrow and a punctual arrival at the church in Toronto, as well as an easy border crossing. Spirits are high despite some complications. Have a great day at church tomorrow! You can leave a comment and they will be moderated so they may not show up right away. All message comments will be passed on whenever possible.
Saturday, June 19 8:00am Departure from church for Willoughby Hills, OH Keep up with the group’s progress at X-Roads A new post will be added almost daily! (with pics…hopefully) email Will for any questions or concerns during the trip…this will be the best form of communication throughout the trip. Calls to Canada can get expensive. Pray for a great trip and that God will reveal himself in new ways to our students! Peace, Will
